WHIMSEY AND ROMANCE GO HAND-IN-HAND IN MOONSTRUCK CHOCOLATIER’S 2010 VALENTINE’S DAY COLLECTION
Collection Features New Flavors that Tantalize the Taste Buds

Portland, Ore. – (Jan. 19, 2010) – Moonstruck Chocolate Co., a Portland, Ore.-based artisan chocolatier, launched its 2010 Valentine’s Day Collection. Pink Champagne Hearts and Extra-Bittersweet Love Bugs are paired with Pink Sea Salt Caramels and “Be Mayan” Teddy Bear Truffles, evoking whimsy and romance right in time for Valentine’s Day.

“Valentine’s Day is a time to show love and appreciation for that special someone,” said Moonstruck Chocolatier Julian Rose. “While we do offer the traditional heart shaped boxes of truffles for your loved one, we also had some fun creating new and unique collections that tantalize the senses.”

Collections making their 2010 debut include::

“Be Mayan” Teddy Bear Truffles $15
One of Moonstruck’s most popular flavors - Mayan ganache, consisting of milk chocolate, cinnamon and crushed roasted almonds, is hand-formed into the shape of an adorable teddy bear that holds individually hand-piped ivory chocolate hearts dusted with a sprinkle of crystallized sugar.

Sweet Heart Truffles $15
Tradition meets whimsy in this Sweet Heart Truffle Collection. Two of each flavor make up the six truffle collection including Pink Champagne Heart, which features an ivory chocolate ganache infused with a champagne reduction, flavored with a hint of raspberry and featuring one whole sugar-infused dried raspberry, inside an ivory chocolate heart-shaped shell finished with a hand-painted design; Molten Lava Heart featuring a soft, molten blended milk and dark chocolate ganache with hazelnut praline and crispy caramelized rice puffs, inside a dark chocolate heart-shaped shell finished with a hand-painted design; and Crème Brulée Heart featuring milk chocolate ganache, heavy cream and caramelized sugar, inside a milk chocolate shell finished with a hand-painted design.

Love Bug Truffles $25
Cute-as-a-button Love Bugs, featuring ganaches of extra-bittersweet chocolate and raspberry and extra-bittersweet chocolate and strawberry hand-formed, hand-dipped and hand-decorated with Moonstruck artisans’ loving care.

Pink Sea Salt Caramels $15
New this year, Moonstruck has given the popular Sea Salt Caramel the Valentine’s Day treatment in this new collection featuring Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel embellished with naturally pink pure salt crystals formed by ancient seas more than 250-million years ago and mined at the foothills of the Himalayas.
