Moonstruck Chocolatier’s Mother’s Day Collection Features New Country Critters, Ladybug Truffles and New Truffle Creations

Portland, Ore. – (Spring 2010) – Moonstruck Chocolate Co., a Portland, Ore., based artisan chocolatier, has launched its 2010 Mother’s Day collection which includes fan favorites such as Ladybug Truffles and Country Critters, as well as a Mother’s Day four-piece collection sure to bring joy to every mom with new heartfelt truffle creations.

“Each holiday brings a new challenge to the art and craft of hand molding and hand decorating our chocolates,” says Moonstruck Chocolatier Julian Rose. “Our detailed hand-painted 2010 Mother’s Day collection is a token of appreciation to all mothers on this special day.”

2010 Mother’s Day Collection Highlights:

Mother’s Day Four-Piece Collection, $10
Delight mom with this collection of two new truffles, paired with two classics. The four-piece collection includes a new Green Tea Yuzu Truffle of ivory chocolate ganache infused with green tea and yuzu, a citrus fruit from East Asia, as well as a new Two-tiered Heart Truffle topped with a hand-piped layer of milk chocolate Baileys® Irish Cream ganache, enrobed in dark chocolate and hand-decorated. Classic favorites include the Sea Salt Vanilla Caramel Truffle and Raspberry Chambord Truffle.

Ladybug Truffles, $25
Moonstruck’s popular Ladybug Truffles have returned for Mother’s Day with ganaches of milk chocolate, dark chocolate raspberry and milk chocolate orange. Each is hand-formed, hand-dipped and hand-decorated.

Country Critters, $15
Country Critter Truffles offer a milk chocolate pony, toffee pig in a new pink color, milk chocolate cow and extra-bittersweet lamb. Each is hand-formed, hand-dipped and hand-decorated.



Almond Toffee Bark, $10
Moonstruck’s seasonal bark features milk chocolate that has been hand-stirred with almonds and toffee in an open copper kettle and finished with a dark chocolate drizzle.
